Florida Governor DeSantis Warns Migrants NOT to come to his State

April 15, 2022: Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has issued a stern warning to the migrants who were sent to Washington D.C. by his fellow Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. “Do not come” to Florida.

A group of the migrants told Fox News that they intend to travel to Miami, Florida, likely via train, Fox News reported.

To those who have entered the country illegally, fair warning: do not come to Florida. Life will not be easy for you, because we are obligated to uphold the immigration laws of this country, even if our federal government and other states won’t,” the governor’s office said to Fox News.

Florida is not a sanctuary state, and our social programs are designed to serve the citizens of our state. The governor will protect the sovereignty of the state of Florida,” it warned.

“If you have come here illegally, you have been done a great disservice by the Biden Administration. They have encouraged you to make dangerous treks, oftentimes at great physical distress to you and your family. Sometimes, this has even meant putting your fate into the hands of dangerous coyotes and human traffickers,” it said.

“There is a legal process to obtain full American citizenship, which is an essential part of the promise of America. In Florida, we will uphold the law,” it said.

A bus from the Lone Star State arrived in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday that was transporting dozens of illegal immigrants.

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott recently vowed that his new plan to counter President Joe Biden’s lax immigration policies was to begin bussing migrants to the nation’s capital.

“Abbott announced last week that he was directing the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to transport migrants released from federal custody in Texas to the nation’s capital and other locations outside his state,” Fox News reported.

“The bus pulled up at approximately 8 a.m. local time, blocks away from the U.S. Capitol building. Individuals disembarked one by one except for family units who exited together. They checked in with officials and had wristbands they were wearing cut off before being told they could go,” the report added.

“According to TDEM, Abbott’s plan is already working. The agency told Fox News on Monday that many of the communities that originally reached out for support – from the Rio Grande Valley to Terrell County – say the federal government stopped dropping immigrants in their towns since Abbott’s announcement on April 6,” the report continued.

The White House dismissed Abbott’s original plan as a “publicity stunt,” but they can now see he’s serious.

“TDEM said it dispatched buses over the weekend to border communities where it coordinated with officials to identify these immigrants. The agency added that each bus has the capacity and supplies necessary to carry up to 40 migrants released in Texas communities and transport them to Washington, D.C.,” Fox News reported.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said on Wednesday his state will begin bussing migrants who cross illegally into the U.S. to Washington, D.C.

In a press conference, the governor’s busing pledge was just one of several new enforcement measures his administration plans to take on a state level ahead of an expected tsunami of migrants that experts and analysts say are coming after the Biden White House announced an end to Title 42 last week.

The Trump administration first implemented the order under a public health law known as Title 42.

It authorized border and immigration agents to immediately deport illegal migrants as a means of slowing the spread of COVID-19.

Dr. Rochelle Walensky, head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the agency that initially imposed the rule, has said it will end on May 23.
