Mar 11, 2021: The Center for Disease Control (CDC) “whispered” its latest mask-wearing data to the media on March 5, 2021. The announcement kept a conspicuously low profile given the importance of the topic and the CDC findings. Similarly, the media was not in its usual vociferous “form” as the findings were anything but sensational “fodder” for fake media’s insatiable appetite for the next big crisis or pseudo-event. The CDC study was designed to measure the differential impacts of mask-wearing mandates on Covid case counts and death rates – the results were a disappointment for Covid fascists out there seemingly eager to find the next new excuse to extend Covid lockdowns and mask wearing mandates.
The CDC found that from March 1 to December 31 of last year, public mask mandates were associated with a 0.5% decrease in the daily growth rate of cases up to 20 days after the mask order was put into place. Those reductions increased marginally over time, inching up to a 1.8% decrease in Covid case counts 100 days after implementing the mask mandate. These tiny reductions in case counts are not only unimpressive results but significantly call into question the value of mask mandates relative to the social and economic disruption and costs caused by them. (Huffington Post – Lydia O’Connor; March 5, 2021)
Rules allowing for restaurant dining, meanwhile, were associated with a nominal 0.9% increase in Covid case counts after 60 days of greenlighting that activity. The Covid case count rose negligibly to 1.2% after 80 days opening of indoor/outdoor dining. It is worth noting that the CDC study failed to (1) track and differentiate between indoor and outdoor dining data and (2) account for other behavioral activities that may have had a bearing on the Covid contraction rates. Even if we assume research and statistical integrity of the CDC update, the variances associated with mask mandates and restaurant re-openings were virtually non-existent. (Huffington Post – Lydia O’Connor; March 5, 2021) As a consequence, the value of mask-wearing mandates appears to be near zero and the adverse effects of re-opening restaurants also appears to be near zero.
The recent wave of States dropping their statewide mask mandates should not, therefore, come as a surprise to anyone. In fact, after more than a year of enduring the negative consequences caused by mask wearing mandates and lockdowns (with little to no measurable efficacy), the only remaining question should be: On what grounds are the remaining States continuing with a failed mask-wearing mandate? As of March 10, the AARP has confirmed that sixteen (16) States are without statewide mask orders/mandates: Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas. (AARP - Andy Markowitz; Updated March 10, 2021)
For those who have been skeptical about the effectiveness of disposable cloth masks or for those who are simply ready to move on with life, the recent CDC findings offer a ray of hope especially as more and more States drop their statewide mask wearing orders and mandates. It appears the only disappointment about the recent CDC update is coming from the corners of fake media and Covid fascists who seem to thrive on hyper-drama and public crises.
